Dreadout is a game developed in Indonesia and using the country’s traditional horror legends and characters, puts us in the role of Linda, one of a group of students who stray from their path and ultimately have to confront the very creatures of legend.

– Dredout is now on Indiegogo, aiming for a 25k goal to complete the release. Here is the link. There are many openings to include your face as one of the ghosts in the game, appear on a poster, tombstone or to design your own ghost.

Recently games have started to come out of countries not usually known or capable, whether its resources or different culture towards gaming, for producing games. Dreadout is the latest, coming straight from Indonesia and puts us into the role of Linda, a student who along with her group, veer from their trip to discover an abandoned town unlike any other.
Now the game is a third person perspective which shifts to first person when using your phone, camera or video camera to interact with the many ghosts and monsters (Fatal Frame is the most well known example of what Dreadout straight out of Indonesia’s lore. You’ll encounter the Pocong, a sould of the dead trapped in its burial suit or Palasik, blood sucking nightmares. This new lore is intriguing and while playing the game you’ll learn a little more about the culture and experience creatures you possibly can’t be prepared for (unless you pick up a book on the subject then you’ll be prepared.)
The game promises an exciting plot with many twists and an interesting feature seems to be that you’ll be able to share your captured shots online via Facebook. People love to share their gaming experiences so we’ll see how many share their experiences once the game is released.
